The buzz this week has confirmed that three-time X-Men director Bryan Singer has been confirmed as the newest director of the next Superman installment. We're not even sure we should be telling you this. After all, the much-gossiped-about Man of Steel movie has brought back some of the most outlandish red herrings of all time--Beyonce as Lois Lane... Charlie's Angels director McG to helm the project... Jake Gyllenhaal to don the trust red and blue.
It's all been so disheartening. Singer's involvement is one of the first rays of sunshine we've seen. It also begs the question: now that comic book adaptations are becoming an increasingly viable film genre, will the small pool of directors who've successfully converted the text to the screen be recycled for new franchises?
